Summary
Colorado veteran Tyler Wilson, who was wounded while serving in Afghanistan and is paralyzed from the waist down, will receive a fully accessible home renovation thanks to multiple nonprofits. Currently, his wife Crystal, a firefighter, must carry him upstairs several times a week to access the shower and their children's rooms. With a $60,000 donation from Homes for Veterans, a VA grant, and other contributions, local nonprofit Houses for Warriors is organizing renovations that will include a new kitchen, master bathroom, raised living room floor, and most importantly, an elevator. Colorado Homes & Design is among the local contractors performing the work, which will provide Tyler with newfound independence in his home.
